Conference Speakers

Dr. Ralph Winter - After serving ten years as a missionary among Mayan Indians in the highlands of Guatemala, Ralph D. Winter was called to be a Professor of Missions at the School of World Mission at Fuller Theological Seminary. Ten years later he and his wife, Roberta, founded a mission society called the Frontier Mission Fellowship (FMF) in Pasadena, California. This in turn spawned the U.S. Center for World Mission and the William Carey International University, both of which serve other missions working at the frontiers of mission. He is the General Director of the Frontier Mission Fellowship.

Dr. Debra Buenting - Dr. Debra Buenting has worked in various aspects of media communication with Youth With A Mission most of her career. She also currently teaches masters-level communication courses online with Spring Arbor, a Free Methodist university based in Michigan. Debra has traveled and worked in 48 countries since 1975. Though she now makes her home in Colorado Springs, she continues to teach and work internationally. Debra’s passion is for exploring the redemptive aspects of communication and the role communication can play in seeing God’s Kingdom established on earth.

Rick Love - Rick Love has a D.Min. in Urban Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Ph. D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has served over 25 years among Muslims. He specializes in coaching faith-based organizations in cross-cultural communication and Christian-Muslim relationships. He is presently on sabbatical as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Yale Center for Faith and Culture’s Reconciliation Program. The goal of the Reconciliation Program is to promote reconciliation between Muslims and Christians, and between Muslim nations and the West, drawing on the resources of the Abrahamic faiths and the teachings and person of Jesus.

Carl Medearis - Carl has established and led several ministries around the Arab world over the last 13 years, while living with his family in Beirut, Lebanon. The focus of their ministry has been sharing the good news and life changing message of Jesus with Muslim university students, business professionals, and political leaders. Carl has also been used by God to help send many who have dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ to reach the nations. Carl now lives in Denver and spends much of his time traveling throughout the Middle East encouraging these friends and others. His goal is to see a total transformation of the Arab Muslim Middle East through the discipling of nations.

Greg Parsons - Greg has been on the staff of the U.S. Center for World Mission since 1982 and currently serves as its General Director. He is also a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wales conducting his studies on the life and missiology of Ralph D. Winter. Greg is married to Kathleen and has two children, Andrew and Katelyn.

Timothy Paul - Timothy Paul has served as an evangelist within the global Gujarati Hindu community for 22 years. He and his wife Melanie have focused their ministry toward reproducing Christ Bhakta networks as well as planting new churches. They serve primarily in northern New Jersey, home to tens of thousands of Gujarati Hindu families. Tim and Melanie have three children and live in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Jamie Winship - Jamie Winship graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice after which he served as a Criminal Investigator. After a distinguished career in law enforcement, he was offered a position with the US Government to work for peaceful solutions in conflict areas outside the USA. Later, Jamie earned a Master’s Degree in English from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC where he then began his teaching career at the University of South Carolina in 1989.

During his time teaching at the university level, Jamie became intrigued by the possibility of working in a conflict area university setting where the students had little or no exposure to western culture and values, and no real hope of transforming the desperate situation within which they found themselves. For this reason, Jamie and his wife Donna (MA Ed.) have served in Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine. Jamie and Donna have developed a unique methodology for using education as a means to transform the views of militant groups in high conflict areas. Jamie is also the author of many articles and has won several writing awards.
